The music world is in shock following the sudden death of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins at the age of 50.
The US rock band confirmed the tragic news in a statement posted on social media a short time ago.
“The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins,” the statement said.
“His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever.
“Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”
According to media reports, Hawkins was found dead in a hotel room in the Colombian capital of Bogota.
His cause of death has not yet been revealed.
