A woman has died in a two-car accident in Tweed Heads.

A four-wheel drive collided with the woman’s vehicle at the intersection of Parkes Drive and Ducat St around 2.30pm on Saturday.

Emergency services rushed to the scene but the 50-year-old woman died at the scene.

The 18-year-old male driver of the four-wheel-drive was uninjured.

He was transported to Tweed Heads Hospital for mandatory tests.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident and will prepare a report for the coroner.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or who has dashcam or mobile phone footage of the accident is urged to contact Tweed Heads Police or Crime Stoppers.
