A festival of light, live music, colour and creativity is set to take over Southport CBD from July 7-10, 2022.

BIG CITY LIGHTS* will see building facades and laneways transformed into hypnotic and technicolour displays by leading local and national artists working in the fields of light, installation, architecture and digital design.

The free, four-night event will feature a cutting-edge program of immersive audio-visual experiences, large-scale digital works, 3D-mapping and unexpected projection sites, coupled with an eclectic line-up of live musical performances.

CEO of Placemakers* Gold Coast and BIG CITY LIGHTS* Artistic Director, Rosie Dennis said Gold Coasters can expect to be spellbound by innovation, scale and plenty of Instagram-able moments when creativity and technology collide at this brand new festival.

“At a time when arts and culture across Australia have been impacted by the pandemic, BIG CITY LIGHTS* is a reason for people to get out of the house, engage with their city, connect with their community and experience great art,” she said.

Ms Dennis said BIG CITY LIGHTS* presents an opportunity for visitors to experience the Gold Coast through a new lens and for locals of all-ages to rediscover their city.

The full program for BIG CITY LIGHTS* is expected to be revealed on May 30. To find out more, visit: bigcitylightsfestival.com.au/
