Animal Welfare League Queensland (AWLQ) is urging Gold Coasters to lend a hand to save a paw.
The charity is calling on local animal lovers to get involved in their Stray Animals Day campaign by purchasing a fundraising paw or donating online to help create a brighter future for stray and abandoned animals.
Every day AWLQ work wonders for sick and injured stray animals by providing them with vital lifesaving treatment.
During the past year alone, they have provided 25,660 veterinary treatments to the animals in their care.
AWLQ Spokesperson Craig Montgomery said all proceeds from the Stray Animals Day campaign will go towards the upgrading of medical equipment to continue to advance patient care.
“Through until 14 April, we have a goal to raise $50,000 to support our lifesaving work. Critical medical care for our animals is the largest portion of our costs. It’s where funding for our shelter is always greatly needed,” he said.
Locals can purchase a paw at the following participating businesses:

• Good Price Pharmacy Warehouse Arundel
