For the last couple of weeks they’ve been teasing us but now, Coldplay have officially announced their 10th album, Moon Music.
The album’s lead single ‘feelslikeimfallinginlove’ – which the band first teased on June 7 and recently played live for the first time in Budapest – is set to be released on June 21.
The new album will be available on vinyl made with 100 percent recycled plastic bottles, in line with Coldplay’s stance on sustainability.
The record will be made up of nine recycled PET-plastic bottles, preventing the manufacture of more than 25 metric tonnes of virgin plastic and provide an 85 percent reduction in CO2 emissions compared to traditional 140g vinyl.
They also plan to release the album on the world’s first ‘EcoCD,’ which is created from 90 percent recycled polycarbonate, also sourced from post-consumer waste.

In 2021, Chris Martin said he planned to stop putting out music with Coldplay in 2025.
“Well I know I can tell you: our last proper record will come out in 2025 and after that I think we will only tour,” he said at the time.
“Maybe we’ll do some collaborative things but the Coldplay catalogue, as it were, finishes then.”
Thing is, that same year, he also told NME the band planned to release 12 albums.
“We’re going to make 12 albums. Because it’s a lot to pour everything into making them. I love it and it’s amazing, but it’s very intense too,” he said.
“I feel like because I know that challenge is finite, making this music doesn’t feel difficult, it feels like, ‘This is what we’re supposed to be doing.’”
“I don’t think that’s what we’ll do. I know that’s what we’ll do in terms of studio albums,” he added.
If that’s still the case, we can expect two more albums after Moon Music.
Moon Music is set for an October 4 release, it’ll be the band’s first new music since 2021’s Music of the Spheres.
