An emotional Celine Dion has revealed she has been diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder, that affects just 1 in one million people.

The “My Heart Will Go On” singer shared the news with her 5.2 million fans on Instagram, announcing that she has a condition called Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS).

In the video message, Dion said the syndrome was causing spasms that affect her ability to walk and sing.

“Recently I’ve been diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder called the stiff person syndrome, which affects 1 in a million people,” the singer said.

“While we’re still learning about this rare condition, we now know this is what’s been causing all of the spasms that I’ve been having.”

The five-time Grammy Award winner admitted she has been battling health issues for quite some time.

“Unfortunately these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal chords to sing the way I’m used to,” Dion said.

As result, the 54-year-old said she has been left with no other choice but to halt all performances, meaning her European tour set to begin in spring 2023 has been postponed.

“It hurts me to tell you today that this means I won’t be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February,” she said.

“I miss seeing all of you, being on the stage, performing for you. I always give 100 per cent when I do my shows but my condition is not allowing me to give you that right now”.
