Celebrity vet and popular Australian television presenter Dr Chris Brown has made a surprise move to a rival network.
Seven has confirmed the 44-year-old will be returning home and re-joining the network where he first shot to fame on ‘Harry’s Practice’ two decades ago.
Brown, who is currently contracted with Channel 10, will leave the network in July after co-hosting his last season of I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!
The move comes as a blow for Ten, with the former Bondi vet having been with the network for the past 15 years and considered one of their most popular presenters.
In a statement, Brown said he’s looking forward to returning to where it all began.
“I’m not entirely sure my old access pass works but once we get over that hurdle and I’m back from the jungle, I can’t wait to sink my teeth into some exciting new projects in the second half of the year and beyond with Seven,” he said.
Seven is expected to announce details of Chris’ new projects later this year.
“We are very pleased to welcome Chris back to Seven… It’s been too long,” Seven West Media Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer James Warburton said.
“Chris is one of the most popular and recognised people on Australian TV, bringing warmth, intelligence and a great sense of humour to everything he does.
“We can’t wait to have him on board and to announce the great new content he will star in.”
