A woman has been headbutted and knocked to the ground after trying to stop two men who had broken into her car in Logan.
Two women were returning to their car which had been parked on Wayne Goss Drive in Berrinba around 3.50am on Monday morning.
The pair spotted two men allegedly stealing a black duffel bag from the blue Ford Falcon after smashing the back left window.
The thieves ran off with one of the women giving chase.
One of the men stopped and headbutted the 42-year-old, causing her to fall back onto the concrete.
The woman was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition with a significant head injury.
The offenders, who were dressed all in black, left on foot in a southerly direction.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam footage from the area in the early hours of Monday to contact them.
