An unborn baby has died and the infant’s mother has been left seriously injured following a horror crash near Ipswich.
A total of six people were hospitalised as a result of the collision, which occurred along Ipswich Boonah Road in Purga around 5.45pm on Thursday.
According to police, a Toyota Rav4 and Toyota Hilux were travelling in opposite directions when they collided.
Three people in one car, and three in the other, were taken to hospital.
One of the passengers of the Toyota Hilux, a 25-year-old woman, was transported to Ipswich Hospital suffering serious injuries.
Her unborn baby died as a result of the crash.
The Forensic Crash Unit is now investigating and is appealing for anyone with information or dashcam to come forward.
