Two childcare workers in Central Queensland have been charged after a young girl was allegedly left on a minibus for up to six hours.
Three-year-old Neveah Austin was left in a critical condition after being found unconscious on the bus at Gracemere near Rockhampton in May.
Thankfully, Neveah has since recovered.
Initial investigations found the three-year-old was the only child on the bus that day after being picked up from her home by the two women on the morning of May 4.
She wasn’t discovered until the beginning of the afternoon run.
Temperatures in Central Queensland that day had soared to around 28 degrees.
Police have today issued a 31-year-old woman and a 30-year-old woman with a notice to appear on one charge each of grievous bodily harm.
Both are due to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on July 26.
