A man and woman are dead and another person is fighting for life following a horror three-car smash in Brisbane’s west.
The fatal crash occurred in the Legacy Way tunnel in Mount Coot-Tha around 3.00pm on Wednesday.
According to police, a black Audi S3 was travelling north through the tunnel when it crashed into a silver sedan, which then ploughed into a small truck.
The driver of the Audi, a man in his fifties, died at the scene, alongside a female passenger in the sedan, a woman in her 20s.
The female driver of the sedan was rushed to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.
The driver of the truck was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The forensic crash unit has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Investigators are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with relevant vision of the black Audi S3 prior to the crash to contact police.
