Two dead in Queensland house fire

Two people have been killed in a house fire in Ipswich.

Emergency services were called to a home in Hannant St at Collingwood Park just before 1am on Sunday.

The house was fully engulfed when fire crews arrived at the scene.

The blaze was eventually extinguished before the bodies of a 68-year-old woman and 73-year-old man were later found inside the debris of the home.

The two are believed to be residents of the property.

Police have established a crime scene with investigations now underway into the cause of the fire.
