A driver has been seriously injured following a massive head-on crash between two trucks on a major Queensland highway.
One of the trucks was heading south on the Gore Highway in Millmerran Woods in the Toowoomba Region when it smashed with another heading in the opposite direction at around 7pm on Wednesday night.
The 24-year-old South Australian driver of the southbound truck sustained serious injuries to his arm and was flown by helicopter to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.
The second driver, a 38-year-old Regency Downs man, was not seriously injured.
The highway was closed in both directions for several hours.
The Forensic Crash Unit has launched an investigation, and is appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision from the area to come forward.
Investigations are continuing.
