Three people have been killed and three others are still missing after more wild storms swept across southeast Queensland on Tuesday.

It follows the death of a woman on the Gold Coast during Monday night’s freak storms, taking the death toll to four.

A major search operation is resuming in Moreton Bay this morning after a boat capsized during wild weather on Boxing Day.

Eleven people were on board the boat when it overturned south of Green Island around 5.30pm.

Eight people were rescued and taken to shore while the body of one person was recovered a short time later.

Two people remain unaccounted for this morning.

A nine-year-old girl has died after being swept away by floodwaters in Logan.

It’s understood the girl jumped a fence in Rochedale South and disappeared, sparking an extensive search.

Her body was discovered later on Tuesday night with a report to be prepared for the Coroner.

A woman in her 40s has died after being swept away by floodwaters in the Mary River in Gympie.

A second woman is still missing while a third managed to get to safety to alert authorities.

A search for the missing woman is resuming this morning.
