A Queensland security guard has been arrested and charged over the alleged sexual assaults of four young women, one aged as young as 15.

The 23-year-old Sunshine Coast man was taken into custody at a home in Maroochydore yesterday, following a lengthy investigation.

“It will be alleged that a series of offences were committed over a 12-month period between January 2021 and February 2022 against four females aged between 15 and 21,” Queensland Police said.

“Police will allege the offending involved a protracted series of incidents which included stalking, hacking computer devices, accessing social media accounts, breaking into a home and exerting coercive control / threats over the victims.”

Police say the man met two of the alleged victims whilst working as a security guard in the Maroochydore Safe Night Precinct.

None of the victims were known to each other.

The man has been charged with 39 offences, including rape, attempted rape, sexual assault, strangulation, torture, stalking and deprivation of liberty.

He has also been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, indecent treatment of a child under 16, extortion, computer hacking, burglary, fraud and stealing.

The man has been denied police bail and remains in custody to appear before the Maroochydore Magistrates Court today.
