International travellers can now arrive in Queensland without having to quarantine for two weeks.
The state government’s changed the rules ahead of schedule, allowing fully vaccinated people to come in without restriction.
The only requirement still in place is that all arrivals must return a negative Rapid Antigen Test within 24 hours of arriving.
The rule wasn’t supposed to change until the Sunshine State reached the 90 percent double vaccination mark.
However, the Premier is confident that it’s safe to do it slightly earlier.
Unvaccinated travellers will still have to undergo quarantine.
It comes as the federal government adjusts it’s requirements for international arrivals as well.
Anyone who tests positive overseas now only has to wait seven days, rather than two weeks, before they’re cleared to get on a plane to come to Australia.
