A rideshare driver is undergoing surgery after being bashed with hammers in a terrifying carjacking in Brisbane.
The 51-year-old driver accepted a booking at Robertson Park in Taringa at around 3.20am on Wednesday.
When he arrived at the pick-up spot, he was approached by a male who confirmed the booking and jumped in the car.
The man started assaulting the driver before two other males got into the vehicle and began hitting the driver with hammers.
The driver was forced out of his car before the three males fled in his vehicle.
The driver was later taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital suffering serious head injuries.
Police are still trying to track down the man’s white 2020 Toyota Camry with Queensland registration 775 CJ9.
