A Queensland teacher and youth group leader has been charged with a string of historical child sex offences that are alleged to have occurred both here and overseas.
Detectives executed a search warrant at a home in Jindalee, Brisbane on Friday and took the 35-year-old man into custody.
It will be alleged the man sexually assaulted a number of teenage boys while he was a secondary school teacher, youth group leader and sports facilitator in the south east between 2014 and 2019.
He worked around Tamborine Mountain, Toowong, Pullenvale, Darra and Dakabin.
Police allege the overseas offending involved his domestic victims when they travelled with the man as part of youth groups to New Zealand and Africa.
He has been charged with eleven offences, including three counts each of sexual activity (person outside of Australia when in a position of trust or authority) and sexual assault and five counts of indecent treatment.
He appeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court where he was remanded in custody ahead of another court appearance on January 20.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the matter and have called on anyone with information which may assist their investigations to contact them.
