Queensland has seen a drop in COVID infections with 4,838 new cases reported on Saturday.
A further eight deaths have been recorded in people aged between their 70s and their 90s.
Five of the deaths involved people in aged care, taking the total number of COVID-related aged care deaths to 278.
Hospital admissions continue to fall with 326 patients in public hospitals and 15 in private facilities.
There are currently 24 people being treated in ICU.
Infections among school-aged children remain steady with 1,637 reported on Saturday.
Chief Health Officer John Gerrard says he’s comfortable with where things are at.
“The situation is satisfactory as we head towards the relaxation of further public health measures on Friday,” Dr Gerrard said.
