A man has been charged with a string of weapon, drug and traffic offences after a rampant police chase through Logan and Brisbane.
Police spotted a red Subaru Impreza with allegedly stolen number plates driving around the Kingston area around 8pm on Monday night.
The car sped off from officers, with PolAir called in to track it.
The vehicle, which had two men inside, was tracked from Beenleigh through multiple suburbs in South Brisbane.
The two men eventually abandoned the vehicle in an underground carpark of a shopping centre in Chermside.
Police caught up with them nearby and arrested them at the scene.
Upon searching the vehicle, police allegedly uncovered firearm parts, various drugs and drug utensils.
A 37-year-old Loganlea man has been charged with 13 offences including one count each of unlawful possession of a weapon (rifle barrel), possession of explosive (ammunition), possession of a knife in a public place, dangerous operation of a vehicle and disqualified driving, as well as two counts of possessing dangerous drugs (gamma-hydroxybutyrate and methamphetamine).
He is expected to front court on August 9.
While a 35-year-old Marsden man has been charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs (cannabis and methamphetamine) and will front court at a later date.
The car is not believed to be stolen, however the number plates were reported stolen from an Eight Mile Plains property on July 14.
