A man has been charged after allegedly attacking a Police officer with a machete in Logan.
Officers were called to an address on Kingston Rd in Woodridge at around 3.20pm on Thursday after reports a man was trying to break into a home.
Police spotted a man on the patio of the home before he attempted to run.
Officers began a foot chase and tried to detain the man before he allegedly turned around and swung a machete that had been stolen from the home.
A male Senior Constable was struck on the hand, suffering a laceration to his finger.
The officer was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition and has since been released.
A 29-year-old Murrarie man was arrested.
He has since been charged with one count each of serious assault of a police officer causing bodily harm whilst armed, grievous bodily harm, enter dwelling and commit, possession of a knife in public and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
He was refused bail and is expected to front Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
