Man, woman injured after shots fired during botched home invasion

A man has been shot during an apparent botched home invasion in Brisbane.

The terrifying ordeal began around midnight, when armed thieves allegedly smashed in the front door of the Nundah property.

The group of offenders then forced their way in and allegedly confronted and threatened the residents.

During a scuffle, a 26-year-old man was shot in the legs, while a 24-year-old woman suffered minor injuries.

Police at this stage believe the attack was random and not targeted.

The gunman remains on the run, with investigations ongoing.
