A man has died after losing control of an electric scooter in Brisbane in the early hours of this morning.

Police say the 37-year-old was rising the e-scooter along Stanmere Street in Carindale around 12.30am when he crashed.

He suffered significant head injuries and sadly died at the scene, despite desperate attempts by emergency crews to save him.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police are asking residents in the area, particularly on Stanmere Street, to check their CCTV footage for vision that may assist investigations.
