LATEST @ September 27: A vespa scooter rider hit by a stolen car allegedly being driven by a 15-year-old boy has died in hospital.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Kianawah and Youngs Roads at Wynnum West around 9.20am on Monday, following reports of a serious crash.
Upon arrival, they found the rider of the motorbike, a 59-year-old man, suffering critical injuries.
He was treated at the scene before being rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he died of his injuries overnight.
“It will be alleged the two occupants of the vehicle, and two occupants travelling in a second vehicle, fled the scene of the crash,” Queensland Police said.
They were all taken into custody after being tracked down at a nearby home a short time later.
“The vehicle involved in the crash, a Nissan X Trail was allegedly stolen from a residence in Wynnum West in the early hours of this morning,” police said.
“It was located at the scene of the crash and has been seized.
“A second vehicle, a VW Arteon allegedly stolen from Carina overnight, was located in Wynnum West near to the address where the juveniles were taken into custody.”
A 15-year-old Wynnum boy, the alleged driver of the vehicle that struck the man, has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death (fail to remain at scene of crash), unlawful use of a motor vehicle (used in indictable offence), burglary, fail to remain at scene of a crash and unlicenced driving.
A 16-year-old Wynnum West girl, who police alleged was a passenger in the vehicle, has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death (fail to remain at scene of crash) and unlawful use of motor vehicle (used in indictable offence).
A 15-year-old Wynnum West girl has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, wilful damage and two counts each of stealing and obstruct police.
While a 15-year-old Alexandra Hills boy has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
They will appear before Brisbane Children’s Court.
Investigations remain ongoing.
EARLIER @ September 26: Two teenagers have been arrested after allegedly crashing a stolen car into a vespa scooter at Wynnum West, leaving the rider for dead.

Upon arrival, they found the rider of the motorbike, a 59-year-old man, suffering critical injuries.
He was treated at the scene before being rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he remains fighting for life.
Police established a cordon of the area, and a 15-year-old girl and 15-year-old boy were taken into custody nearby a short time later.
“The vehicle involved in the crash was allegedly stolen from a residence in Wynnum West in the early hours of this morning,” police confirmed in a statement.
The two teens are currently assisting officers with inquiries.
The Forensic Crash Unit is now appealing for anyone with further information or dashcam vision to come forward.
