UPDATE | Police have charged a man with murder following the discovery of a woman’s body at a resort on the Sunshine Coast.
A staff member found the body of the 46-year-old woman in a room of the Pelican Waters resort around 3.30pm on Monday afternoon.
A man was also located in the room and was arrested a short time later.
The 50-year-old Bli Bli man has now been charged with murder (domestic violence offence).
He has been refused bail and will face Maroochydore Magistrates Court today.

EARLIER | A woman has been found dead at a popular resort on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
The body of the woman was discovered by a staff member at the Pelican Waters Resort just after 3.30pm on Monday afternoon.
A man was reportedly found injured in the same room.
Police say the man and woman are known to each other and had been staying at the resort.
The man is now assisting Police with inquiries.
Investigations are continuing.
