A man has been charged over a horrific attack on another man at a Queensland pub, which left the victim with significant injuries including bleeding on the brain.
Police allege a 55-year-old man was leaving a licenced premises along Lowe Street in Goodna around 5pm on Sunday, when he was confronted by another man wielding a baseball bat.
“Following a brief exchange, the armed man assaulted the 55-year-old, striking him multiple times with the bat in the head and arms,” Queensland Police said.
The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics for a number of signficant injuries, including an arm fracture and bleeding on the brain.
Following investigations, police yesterday charged a 46-year-old Goodna man with one count of grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed.
The man will appear before the Ipswich Magistrates Court today.
