A man is in custody after allegedly stealing a meat truck and taking it on a dangerous joyride from the Sunshine Coast to Brisbane.
The meat truck was taken from a business in Mooloolaba around 8.20am, with the owners of the store taking to Facebook to help find the vehicle.
Later that afternoon, police received multiple calls about the driving manner of the truck on the Bruce Highway at Caboolture.
Polair and police vehicles tracked the truck as it headed south damaging multiple vehicles on the M1 in the vicinity of Woolloongabba and Holland Park.
The meat truck eventually came to a stop in Mainsfield, when police allege the man crashed into the deck of a home before trying to run from officers, who swiftly arrested him without incident.
The 31-year-old Tara man has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle whilst adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, robbery with violence, two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and three counts each of stealing and possession of dangerous drugs.
He will appear before the Cleveland Magistrates Court today.
