A man is due to front court today charged over the alleged domestic violence murder of a woman at The Gap.
Emergency services were called to a home on Chestnut Place around 4.20pm on Monday, where they discovered the body of a 79-year-old woman with a stab wound.
The woman was declared deceased at the scene, with a crime scene immediately declared.
Around 6.30pm, a 40-year-old man from Victoria was located at Brisbane Airport by Australian Federal Police and taken into custody.
“It will be alleged the woman and man were known to each other,” Queensland Police said.
The man has since been charged with murder (domestic violence offence) and has been remanded in custody to front Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
Investigations are ongoing.
