Queensland Health Minister Yvette D’Ath has tested positive for COVID-19.
Ms D’Ath took to social media on Monday to confirm the news, revealing she is suffering from “mild symptoms”.
“I am following the isolation rules and will be working from home,” Ms D’Ath said.
“I am grateful that I have received all of my vaccination shots”
“It is a timely reminder for all Queenslanders that COVID is still in our community.”
Ms D’Ath is the second Minister to have been struck down by the virus, with Education Minister Grace Grace testing positive in January.
Queensland recorded 3,797 new COVID-19 cases today, along with a further two deaths.
The number of people being treated for the virus in hospitals across the state has gone down from 243 to 233.
