Embattled Queensland Health Minister Yvette D’ath is set to be dumped from the troubled portfolio as the Premier prepares to reshuffle her cabinet.

It’s one of several personnel changes expected to be made by Annastacia Palaszczuk as she looks to refresh several portfolios that have plagued the government.

Housing Minister Leanne Enoch and Youth Justice Minister Leanne Linard are also expected to be demoted.

Ms D’ath took over the health portfolio following the 2020 state election in the midst of the pandemic.

While the state government’s handling of COVID has come under fire, Ms D’ath has been under increasing pressure of late over a series of health debacles.

They include the state’s worsening hospital ramping crisis and the scandal involving the state’s forensics lab.

It’s understood Ms D’ath, a close friend and factional ally of the Premier, was informed of the move on Tuesday.
