Victims of Queensland’s escalating youth crime crisis will take to the streets of Brisbane today calling for more action on the epidemic.

Hundreds of fed-up Queenslanders are expected to turn out for the rally, which will stretch from Queens Garden in the CBD to the steps of Parliament House.

It’s the third time in the last eight months that Voice for Victims advocates have taken part in rally action, this residents declaring enough is enough.

Some of the victims will also meet with the Premier to share their stories about how the youth crime crisis has impacted their lives.

It comes as Steven Miles prepares to unveil his own crime crackdown, with reports the State Government will this week announce new crime laws.

Some of those include the expansion of Jacks Law, which will see police wanding powers expanded from transport hubs and safe night precincts to shopping centres.

Magistrates are also expected to be given more powers to issue GPS trackers to troubled youth offenders.
