Police have declared a crime scene at a unit complex in Sunnybank after a fire destroyed a unit in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency crews were called to the property along Beenleigh Road just after 12.30am, finding one unit in the complex well alight upon arrival.

“Officers established that the building was vacant at the time, and no one was injured as a result of the blaze,” Queensland Police said.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have been driving along Beenleigh Road between 11pm last night and 1am this morning, or who may have dash-cam footage, to come forward.

The unit will remain a crime scene until scientific officers arrive this morning.

Investigations are ongoing.
