A crime scene has been declared at the Lowood Police Station after several police cars and part of a carport were damaged by a suspicious fire.

Officers were called to the station, which was unattended at the time, just after midnight.

Upon arrival, they found three police cars engulfed in flames at the back of the building.

Fire crews immediately launched into action to douse the flames and were thankfully able to stop the fire from spreading to the main station structure.

A Queensland Police spokesperson confirmed no one was injured.

Investigators are now reviewing CCTV as investigations continue.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information or footage to contact them.
