Police have laid charges over a horror bus crash in Brisbane earlier this year that claimed the life of an 18-year-old woman.

Tia Cameron died instantly after she was struck by an out-of-control bus in the CBD on March 8.

The young woman was standing on a footpath along Edward Street when police allege the vehicle left the road and struck her, before colliding with a nearby building.

Following an extensive three-month investigation by the Forensic Crash Unit, detectives yesterday issued the driver with a notice to appear in court on one count of careless driving causing death.

The 70-year-old man from Underwood will front Brisbane Magistrates Court on June 26.
