A little boy has died after being hit by a car while allegedly chasing a dog in Sydney’s west.
Emergency services were called to Richmond Road at Doonside around 12.40pm on Friday, following reports a six-year-old boy had been hit by a car.
Upon arrival, they found the youngster suffering critical injuries.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead where he later died.
NSW Ambulance Chief Inspector Brian Parsell told reporters it’s believed the boy ran out onto the road as he was chasing a dog.
Police have confirmed the male driver of the car is assisting officers with inquiries.
A crime scene has been established.
