Four people have died in a horror crash in the NSW Riverina.

NSW Police say the vehicle crashed into a pole before rolling down an embankment and into a water channel around 11.15pm last night.

The car then landed on its roof at the intersection of Research Road and Toorak Road in Yanco, which is approximately 7km south of Leeton.

The four people inside the vehicle died before emergency crews arrived on scene.

While they’re still yet to be formally identified, police say they’re believed to be a 36-year-old woman and three boys aged 10, 11 and 12, who are all related to one another.

Officers from the Murrumbidgee Police District have established a crime scene that will be examined by specialist police.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.
