A woman has been charged with manslaughter and neglect following the death of an elderly man in Sydney’s Inner West.

Police allegedly found the 84-year-old semi-conscious and in a state of neglect in May last year after they were called to a home in Rozelle.

The man was taken to hospital where he remained under care for a number of months, before he passed away as a result of his injuries in December.

Following ongoing investigations, a 61-year-old woman was arrested at the same home around 9am yesterday.

She was taken to Newtown Police Station where she was charged with manslaughter and refuse to provide necessities of life.

The woman appeared in Downing Centre Local Court on Monday, where she was granted conditional bail to appear at Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court on March 23.
