A woman has been arrested and charged after allegedly stabbing a man in the face with a pair of scissors.

The horrific attack allegedly happened at a unit in the NSW Riverina region yesterday.

“Police have been told a 50-year-old man and 32-year-old woman were arguing in a unit at Deniliquin when the woman allegedly stabbed the man in the face with a pair of scissors,” NSW Police said in a statement.

The man, who is known to the woman, was rushed to hospital and has since been released after undergoing treatment.

The woman was arrested at the unit a short time after the alleged attack and has now been charged with reckless wounding (domestic violence).

She was granted bail to appear in Albury Local Court on Tuesday 11 October.
