TWO people have died and a child has been seriously injured after a horror house fire in Sydney’s south west on Sunday morning.

Emergency services were called to a home on Rottnest Avenue in Hinchinbrook around 5.40am after receiving reports of the property being well alight.

Six people, including a child, were evacuated and treated by paramedics.

Sadly, two people died at the scene.

The pair are yet to be formally identified.

The child involved was taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a serious condition.

A crime scene has now been established and investigations into the cause of the blaze are underway.
