A man has died and another has suffered serious injuries after a horror crash in northern NSW.
Emergency services were called to the Bruxner Highway at Ballina on Sunday afternoon after reports a van and ute had collided.
A man in his 60s who was the driver and sole occupant of the ute died at the scene.
The driver of the van – a man believed to be aged in his 40’s – was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with serious injuries.
His passenger was also taken to Lismore Base Hospital with minor injuries.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is now underway and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
