A man has been airlifted to hospital on the Gold Coast after allegedly being assaulted at a caravan park in Byron Bay.
Emergency crews were called to the Lawson Street caravan park around 3.30am on Tuesday, following reports of a serious assault.
Upon arrival, they found a 39-year-old man with a serious head injury.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being flown to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
Another man, aged 39, was arrested at the scene.
He has since been charged with affray and granted conditional bail to appear before Byron Bay Local Court next month.
