A MAN has been charged with murder after a young woman’s body was found in a bath of acid in an apartment in Sydney.

Emergency crews made the grim find inside a unit on Pennant Hills Road on Sunday afternoon, while responding to reports of an alleged domestic violence-related incident.

“Officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command arrived to find the body of a 19-year-old woman inside the unit,” NSW Police said.

It’s understood the woman’s family had phoned police concerned about her welfare.

Officers have since established Strike Force Jenola to investigate the woman’s death, which is being treated as suspicious.

Following a public appeal for information yesterday, a 20-year-old man attended Bankstown Police Station where he was arrested.

He has since been charged with murder and refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court today.
