A wanted man has been arrested hiding out in a roof cavity in Sydney’s west, after allegedly shooting a woman.
Police allege the 33-year-old dumped the woman at Bankstown Hospital on January 12 before fleeing on foot.
The 37-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to her torso, with reports it’s left her paralysed.
Strike Force Chelston was formed to investigate the shooting.
Tactical officers raided a Picnic Point property around 10pm last night, taking the man into custody.
He was taken to Bankstown Police Station where an outstanding warrant was executed for five offences.
They include discharge firearm etc intend cause grievous bodily harm, use unauthorised pistol, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, and not keep firearm safely – prohibited firearm.
A revocation of parole warrant was also executed.
The Condell Park man has been refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court today.
