The Sydney Harbour Bridge is closed and three people have been injured following a horror crash.

Emergency services were called to the Bradfield Highway at Millers Point just after 7am, following reports three vehicles had crashed, causing one to flip and catch fire.

The driver of a van was trapped following the crash, but was freed by rescue crews before being rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The drivers of the other two cars, a man and a woman, were treated at the scene by paramedics for non-life threatening injuries.

The man was then taken to Royal North Shore Hospital, while the woman was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

A crime scene has since been established at the crash site, which will be examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.

“An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway,” NSW Police said.
