A major investigation is underway after a woman was found dead at a prestigious school in Sydney’s CBD.
Police made the grim find after being called to St Andrew’s Cathedral School on Kent Street just before midnight, following reports of a concern for welfare.
It’s understood the woman’s body was located in a gym area at the education facility.
A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of the death, but police have confirmed they are treating it as suspicious.
A crime scene has been established and is being forensically examined this morning.
Local detectives, with assistance from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, have commenced an investigation into the woman’s death under Strike Force Trineura.
As part of inquiries, a second crime scene was established in the Vaucluse area and investigations are underway to determine if it is linked.
Police are continuing to liaise with school officials, who have informed parents that the campus will be closed on Thursday.
