A three-year-old girl has been airlifted to hospital after being mauled by a kangaroo in the New South Wales Northern Tablelands.
The girl was sitting on the front porch of a property on Balgownie Drive in Armidale when she was attacked at around 6pm on Thursday night.
She suffered a number of deep lacerations including a serious cut to the side of her head.
The girl was stabilised by paramedics at the scene.
She was later airlifted by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital with critical care paramedics on board.
The girl is now in a stable condition.
