A major manhunt is underway for a bikie associate who remains on the run after allegedly cutting off his ankle bracelet.

Mark Horne was awaiting trial over the shooting of a truck driver and theft of $500,000 cash in the Blue Mountains when he disappeared.

NSW Police say the 32-year-old was last known to have been on Coorabin Place at Riverwood about 6.15am on 21 October, where it’s believed he entered an unknown vehicle which was last seen heading westbound on the M5 Motorway.

Authorities are conducting extensive searches and inquiries at airports and ports, as well as other transportation routes across NSW and Australia.

Their inquiries suggest he may be attempting to travel to Queensland to flee to Southeast Asia, most likely by sea.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Mr Horne, who police believe may be receiving assistance from associates to avoid detection.

“Police remind those who are involved in this type of activity that it is a criminal offence, and they will be charged,” NSW police said.
