The Leader of the Australian United Party Craig Kelly has been egged and labelled anti-Semitic while campaigning in Melbourne today.
The incident was filmed and posted online by the ‘Whistleblowers, Activists and Communities Alliance’, with a woman accusing Kelly of being a “Nazi lover”.
In the footage, the woman can be seen cracking two eggs on Kelly’s head while yelling “stop hanging out with Nazi’s” repeatedly.
Kelly hit back, shaking his finger at the woman and labelling her “a disgrace to our democracy”.
The incident was a flashback to when a Melbourne teenager who became known as ‘egg boy’ cracked an egg over far-right Senator Fraser Anning’s head in 2019.
Victoria Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident.
It’s understood two women were involved in the egging attack, before running to a vehicle that was waiting nearby.
Police say a witness on a pushbike followed the vehicle before stopping in front of the car and sustaining minor injuries after a male driver ran over the cyclist’s foot.
The driver allegedly stopped and gave his details to the cyclist.
Police say the identity of those involved remains ongoing.
