A man and woman have died in Sydney after being struck by a passing car following a minor crash.

A Toyota Camry and a Holden Captiva collided in the citybound lanes of the Anzac Bridge just before midnight on Friday.

Police allege the drivers of those vehicles were standing on the roadway when they were tragically struck by a passing vehicle, a Holden Commodore.

A woman in her 20s and a man in his 30s sadly died at the scene.

A Toyota Camry taxi also became involved in the crash and was taken to hospital for mandatory testing

The man driving the Commodore has also been hospitalised for injuries sustained in the crash, and mandatory testing.

The bridge was closed for almost six hours, but ahs reopened this morning.

They man and woman killed in the tragedy are yet to be formally identified.

Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command have established a crime scene with specialist investigations being conducted by the Crash Investigation Unit.

Investigators are keen to hear from anyone with dashcam vision of the incident, or the circumstances leading up to the crash, especially those drivers travelling westbound between 11.45pm and 11.55pm.
