The honeymoon continues for Anthony Albanese and his Labor government with a new poll showing a big jump in support since the May election.

The Resolve Strategic survey published in Nine Newspapers shows Labor’s primary vote jumping from 33 per cent at the election to 42 per cent.

Primary support for the Coalition has fallen from 36 to 28 per cent since its election defeat.

Support for minor parties the Greens and One Nation has remained fairly steady since the May election.

However, support for independents has increased from 6 per cent to 8 per cent.

Anthony Albanese is miles ahead of Peter Dutton as preferred PM, with a lead of 55 to 17.

The poll also shows Labor is now considered better managers of the economy and national security, which are traditionally Coalition strong points.

The strong showing for Labor comes as the PM was given a rousing reception at a Gang of Youths concert in Sydney.

The crowd cheered as Mr Albanese chugged a beer as the group sang “Here’s to Albo.”
